Overview
METRO CHINA 2011,
approved by the Ministry of Commerce, P. R. China, is planned to be
held at China International Exhibition Center, Beijing, covering a
floor space of 20,000 square meters. The host will be Urban Rail
Transit Committee of China Communications and Transportation
Association (CCTA) while the Organizers being China Academy of
Railway Sciences, MOR and China World Trade Center Co., Ltd.,
Beijing Infrastructure Investment Co., Ltd., Beijing Subway
Operation Co., Ltd. and Beijing MTR Construction Administration
Corporation.

The Urban Rail
Transit Committee, one of the committees of CCTA, the national
voice for the transportation and logistics industry that is
administered by the National Development and Reform Commission, is
engaged in the research, consultancy and planning for China¡¯s urban
rail transit development. The Committee enjoys an authoritative
position in the nation¡¯s urban rail transport industry with its 76
members involved in the management, investment, construction,
operation, exploration, design, research or manufacture of metro
projects or products.

China Academy of
Railway Sciences (CARS) is a comprehensive research institution with
multiple disciplines and specialties under the Ministry of Railways,
P. R. China, specializing in prospective scientific research,
development and testing on key projects and equipment. CARS will
become a certification body for urban rail transit equipment in the
near future. The success of METRO CHINA 2009 held in Beijing owes a
great deal to CARS.

China World Trade
Center Co., Ltd. (CWTC), a worldwide reputed experienced trade
show organizer under the Ministry of Commerce, P. R. China, has for
long years dedicated itself to promoting international trade
exchanges and cooperation for both domestic and overseas companies.

Thanks to the
concerted efforts since 2005 by the host, the biennial METRO
CHINA has grown to be China¡¯s most professional, influential and
largest international exhibition for the urban rail transit
industry. The show has served as an ideal platform for the
exhibitors from around the world to best display their
state-of-the-art technology and equipment, improve their corporate
image, understand the needs of China¡¯s urban rail transit, seek
business partners, tap market potentials and conduct exchanges and
cooperation in the world¡¯s most populous nation with the
fastest-growing economy.

China, the world's
largest market for urban rail transit
China has now become the world's
largest market for urban rail transit. By the end of 2010, more than
40 urban rail lines totaling some 1,400 km had been in service in 12
cities on the Chinese mainland, including Beijing, Shanghai,
Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Wuhan. To date, 36 cities in the mainland
China have planned to construct urban rails, of which 28 cities have
won official approval. It is planned that the 28 cities will have
completed 87 lines exceeding 2,500 km in total by 2015, spending a
total of RMB 1,000 billion yuan. By 2020, China is expected to have
6,100 km of urban rail lines..

Show Venue
China
International Exhibition Center (http://www.ciec-expo.com),
better known as CIEC for short, owns a total indoor exhibiting space
of 60,000 sqm and an outdoor space of 7,000 sqm. All the exhibition
halls have ready access to electricity and power, water supply and
drainage, telecommunications, heating and air-conditioning systems,
which can fully meet the requirements of the exhibitions.
Located at the north-east corner of Beijing, CIEC is
only 10 km away from the downtown, 5 km from the embassy districts
and 20 km from the airport, with highways leading in all directions
and more than 20 hotels scattered around. Exhibitors will really
find CIEC pleasant and convenient.

METRO CHINA 2011 will be housed in the first 2 floors
of Hall 1.
