The Press Conference of METRO CHINA 2009, China's most authoritative and influential trade show on metro and urban rail transit, was held in Beijing on May 26, 2009. Journalists from over 30 mass and trade media attended the conference. The rest of the more than 100 attendants came from various interested exhibitors, including such industry's giants as Bombardier, Siemens, Alstom, ABB and China Railway Signal & Communication Corp., together with business representatives from the German, French, British, Swiss and Dutch embassies in Beijing.

At the Press Conference, the representatives with the sponsors of METRO CHINA 2009 briefed on the vast market potentials of China's urban rail transit industry and explained why the show would be held in Beijing instead this year. They also reaffirmed that METRO CHINA, jointly sponsored by the Urban Rail Transport Professional Committee of CCTA and CIECC would continue to be held every two years in odd-number years. It is agreed that the host, sponsors and organizers will make every endeavor to attract the most possible trade visitors to the show, offering many returns to the exhibitors.
